Our tour guide and private driver will be waiting for you at Cairo International Airport with a placard bearing your name.

An air-conditioned private vehicle will transport you to your hotel (Le Meridian Pyramids Resort) in Giza so you may check in.

Your representative will assist you with check-in formalities, review your schedule for the 8-day Christmas Nile Cruise Trip in Egypt, and ensure that all pick-up times for your Egypt day tours are confirmed. You will be given a welcome drink when you arrive at the hotel.

Cairo overnight stay

On the first day in Cairo, after breakfast at your hotel, your Egyptologist guide will pick you up to start the sightseeing tours.

You will be taken to the Giza Pyramids to see the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus, along with the Great Sphinx, which guards the necropolis. You'll see the Valley Temple of King Chephren, built from Aswan granite for the mummification process. It has 16 pillars shaped like the letter T.

Next is the Egyptian Museum in Cairo,which contains huge collections of ancient Egyptian artifacts and the only royal treasure found intact: King Tutankhamun's golden treasures from his Valley of the Kings tomb discovery in 1922.

You'll visit Coptic Cairo,seeing Roman, Islamic,and Christian sites: Babylon Fortress, Hanging Church, Abu Serga Church,where the holy family stayed, Moses Well, and Ben Ezra Synagogue where Moses' basket was found.

You'll have lunch at a Nile-view restaurant, then continue to Islamic Cairo to spend time at Khan El Khalili, Cairo's oldest bazaar.

Finally, you'll return to Le Meridian Pyramids Resort for dinner.

After breakfast at the hotel in Giza, your tour manager will accompany you to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Luxor.

Upon arrival in Luxor, a representative will meet you and escort you onboard the Steigenberger MS Minerva Nile Cruise ship. You will check into your cabin, where you'll spend the next few days.

You'll have some free time to settle into your cabin, then enjoy lunch onboard the cruise ship.

Next, you'll meet your guide in the lobby to start your Luxor day tours. You'll visit the magnificent Temple of Karnak and its spacious grounds.

You'll continue your Luxor East Bank tours by visiting the Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the Theban Trinity (Amun, Mut, and Khonsu), which is beautifully lit at night.

Dinner will be served onboard your Egypt Nile River Cruise ship, and you'll spend your first night in Luxor with views of the Nile River.

After enjoying your breakfast aboard the Nile cruise boat, you will enjoy the west bank of Luxor tour and cross the Nile to visit the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III, renowned as the Colossi of Memnon, and then visit the Valley of the Kings, the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom Pharaohs, including famous Tutankhamen and legendary Ramses the Second. The tombs in the Valley of the Kings are considered a UNESCO heritage site. Visit Hatshepsut's Temple, also known as El Deir El Bahari, which was constructed for Queen Hatshepsut, the first female monarch in recorded history, by renowned architect Senmout.

While the ship is going to Edfu, eat a healthy lunch to continue your fun.

After your breakfast on board your Egypt Nile River Cruise, you will be led off the boat to explore Edfu's well-preserved Ptolemaic Temple, which is devoted to the falcon God Horus. Returning to the cruise, which will keep heading south in the direction of Kom Ombo. As soon as the cruise reaches Kom Ombo, you will disembark once more to explore the fascinating Temple of Kom Ombo, which is home to the God Horaeris and the local crocodile God Sobek. After spending enough time at the temple, you will return to the ship to eat lunch before the cruise's final stop at Aswan.

After a breakfast buffet served on board the Nile cruise, your private guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of Aswan. After visiting the High Dam, one of the largest dams in the world and a famous engineering feat, you will board a boat to the magnificent Philae Temple, the last place where ancient Egyptian gods were worshiped even after the spread of Christianity. The temple is located above a lovely island in the Nile.

The tour proceeds to the Aswan granite quarries to see the largest Unfinished Obelisk, which was undoubtedly created by the great queen Hatshepsut but left unfinished to explain how huge monoliths were liberated from the ground.

After enjoying an oriental breakfast on board your Steigenberger MS Minerva Nile Cruise on your final day in Aswan, you will depart and meet our airport agent, who will drive you to Aswan Airport so you can catch your aircraft back to Cairo.

At Cairo International Airport, you will be welcomed and assisted. Our tour guide will then drive you to your hotel in Giza.
